Biodiversity and Ecosystem services
Biodiversity is under threath, international conventions and agreements have been made to stop the loss of biodiversity. We are experienced in assessments of biodiversity (genetic diversity, species diversity as well as ecosystem diversity) and moreover in research in the functionality of biodiversity, for instance for ecosystem services such as water purification, soil health and clean air. Restoration of ecosystem functions is an important topic.
We develop methods for monitoring and modelling ecosystem processes at a regional scale based on quantitative remote sensing methods in a multi-disciplinary approach.
Spatial design of ecological networks is one of the cores of our science group.
