Integrated Water Management
The transport of water and thereby transported substances, particulary nitrogen and phosphate, is studied using models, geographical information systems and experimental data.
More specific transport of water in the vadose zone, the interaction between groundwater and surfacewater, transport of nutrients with water and the emission of nutrients to surface water, groundwater and atmosphere are studied.

Our main goal is to quantify (the effects of water management on) the hydrological cycle, waterquality concerning nutrients, and resulting environmental effects.
Products (models, decision support systems and advises) are applied at fieldscale, catchmentscale and national scale in order to evaluate and monitor policy with respect to water, agriculture, nature, environmental effects and environmental planning.
Methods and results are published in both applied and scientific publications.
