The Soil Geography team is involved with gathering scientific soil and groundwater information (available at bodemdata.nl). The team performs research on geographical surveys, in particular, soil science, spatial statistics (pedometrics) and groundwater dynamics in relation to soil processes. The results contribute to sustainable land use.
’Soil information’ includes maintenance and management, editing and updating, and the application of soil data. This also includes the methods used to collect the data. The field of pedometrics focuses on quantifying the uncertainty and reliability of the data, taking into account spatial and temporal variability. Our team has a unique ability to apply and interpret soil data to generate soil maps. We rely on our specialist and detailed knowledge about soil units, their characteristics and properties, distribution and reliability.
