Unit: Wageningen UR
Location: Amsterdam

The International Symposium 'Cultural variety in Europe: policy and practice!' focuses on the influence of cultural differences in INTERREG III projects, on the planning process and on finding ways to cope with the cultural differences, so an important obstacle for co-operation can be reduced. Furthermore, this focus reflects the needs of players who wish to involve themselves in co-operation. Complementary to the activities of the INTERACT points and the INTERACT secretariat, special attention is needed for the underexposed role of the cultural context in international planning projects.

We would like to invite you to share new ideas involving the cultural challenges in the next programming period in general and Transnational Regional Cooperation.
The aim of the International Symposium “Cultural variety in Europe: policy and practice!” is:

  • to disseminate and share the findings of our European research-project “CULTPLAN – Planning as Culture in Europe”
  • to arise the awareness of INTERREG causing cultural dynamics;
  • to valorize INTERREG experiences with cross cultural cooperation with respect to the cultural strategy of the EU.
