Wageningen University has been awarded a NWO WOTRO Integrated Programme Grant to conduct research on flood resilience and flood risk management in Bangladesh and the Netherlands for the five year research programme 'Communities and institutions for flood resilience: enhancing knowledge and capacity to manage flood risk in the Bangladeshi and Dutch Deltas'.
Alterra uses latest technologies from remote sensing, land use monitoring and agro-physiological modelling to predict crop growth, harvest and the effects of climate change on the condition of water, soil and ecosystem functioning. These models support companies in sustainable sourcing and resource efficiency.
